They assisted the teams in lining up and getting prepared to head down to the docks to get on the boats when it was time for their heat. It was a great opportunity to see various groups from all over Knoxville come together to benefit KARM (they reach out to the homeless in Knoxville). Tim Smith got to race on one of the boats without even lifting a paddle - he was the designated drummer (and didn't have to drum either). It was lots of fun, and hopefully next year SAMS can serve again. From Amy:
